Undergraduate students who receive their degree at the end of the fall term, and who are continuing as graduate students at MIT for the spring term, may live in undergraduate housing.
Unauthorized Occupancy in Residence Halls
You are prohibited from occupying a room or apartment at MIT without an assignment from Housing & Residential Services.
Undergraduate Eligibility & Occupancy
Only registered MIT undergraduate students and transfer students are eligible for Institute housing.

Housing & Residential Services works with building Room Assignment Chairs to assign buildings and rooms to undergraduate students.
Undergraduate Housing License Agreement
All undergraduate students who are currently assigned to an MIT campus residence hall are required to electronically sign a Housing License Agreement.
Undergraduate Ninth-Term Housing
Students requesting a ninth term of housing must apply for the waiting list through the housing portal.
Undergraduate Pro-Rating Rent
If a student leaves an undergraduate residence hall or is assigned to the system after the beginning of the term, rent will be pro-rated.
Undergraduate Summer Housing
Summer housing is available to fully-enrolled MIT undergraduate students who will maintain enrollment at the Institute this upcoming fall (including within graduate degree programs).
