The ASA, in partnership with SOLE and DSL, supports the efforts of student organizations to promote environments where everyone feels welcome and respected. All student organizations, as well as their programs and events, must adhere to MIT’s nondiscrimination policies and be open to all participants regardless of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, religion, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, or national or ethnic origin.
Student organizations should update constitutions, webpages, and social media to state that groups and events are open to all MIT community members. If there are eligibility requirements (e.g., limited to undergraduates, certain majors), they must not be based on race, sex, or other protected characteristics.
