The Infinite Corridor Poster Display program is managed by the Campus Activities Complex (CAC) and provides recognized student organizations and Institute departments with access to designated panels in the Infinite Corridor to promote their programs and activities. All displays must follow MIT policies, including the Poster and Display Policy and align with MIT’s mission, values, and culture.

Eligibility and Permissible Uses

Infinite Corridor poster displays may only be reserved by recognized student organizations and Institute departments, labs, centers, and institutes (DLCIs). Use of the displays is limited to the promotion of Institute or MIT-recognized student group events, activities, programs, services, as well as educational, research, professional, or volunteer opportunities relevant to the MIT community.

Location and Panel Specifications

Available displays  are on the north-facing wall of Building 7 and Building 3 in the Infinite Corridor, immediately east of Lobby 7:

  • Panel A (first panel): 67 1/4″ × 44″
  • Panel B (fourth panel): 63″ × 44″
  • Panel C (sixth panel): 68.5″ × 44″

Measurements represent the complete visible display space; materials may not extend beyond the frame or be tucked underneath the edges.

Display Guidelines

Displays should be well-designed, informative, and educational, and must:

  • Follow MIT policies, including the Poster and Display Policy.
  • Promote MIT-affiliated events, programs, or opportunities.
  • Clearly and conspicuously identify the sponsoring group and include its contact information.
  • Be affixed only with materials that do not cause permanent damage to surfaces.
  • Not include prohibited content as described above.

Reservations

  • Each organization is limited to two (2) one-week reservations per semester. Reservations may not be scheduled for consecutive weeks.
  • Organizations must receive space confirmation from the CAC by email before installing any display. Displays may be installed Monday through Friday during business hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).

Fees

There are no fees for Infinite Corridor displays for student organizations; Institute departments, labs, centers, and institutes (DLCIs) will be charged $5 per day.

Cancellation

Cancellations must be made at least two (2) days prior to the planned start date noted on the reservation. Cancellations made after this deadline may incur a cancellation fee.

Keys and Access

Keys for the locks on Infinite Corridor display cases are available at the CAC office, W20-500. Individuals must sign out keys and return them immediately following installation. DLCIs and student organizations will be charged a $50 replacement fee for any lost or unreturned keys.

Prohibited Uses

As noted in the Poster and Display Policy, displays may not be used to engage in harassment, discrimination, retaliation, invasion of personal privacy, defamation, threats or violence, targeted harassment toward groups or individuals, infringement of intellectual property rights, or violations of law or other MIT policies. Individual reservations are not permitted, and displays may not be used to sell or promote goods and services from individuals, businesses, or other third parties. Displays may not be used to advertise non-MIT events intended for a broad public audience.

Removal of Displays

  • The CAC will review displays after they have been installed to ensure compliance with this policy.
  • Displays that do not comply with MIT policy may be removed without notice.
  • At the conclusion of the reservation period, the sponsoring department or recognized student organization is responsible for removing its display materials and returning the panel to its original condition.
  • Materials remaining after the reservation period may be removed and discarded by CAC without notice.
  • Individuals or groups may not remove, alter, or deface another organization’s display.
  • Displays that violate this policy may result in removal, fines, and/or Institute disciplinary action.
