Air Conditioners in Residence Halls

Air conditioners (A/C) are permitted in most residence hall rooms if windows are double hung and where the A/C can be safely and structurally supported.

Air Conditioners

All air conditioner installations MUST be approved and then inspected by the house operations manager or mechanic. Residents are required to submit a request to install an A/C unit via Atlas. Residents who have air conditioners installed are required to submit an Atlas request to have them removed before they move out of their room.

Please note that only portable air conditioners are permitted within Burton-Conner, MacGregor, and Maseeh. Please ensure that the portable unit includes an internal water reservoir rather than a hose type. Window air conditioners are not permitted within these buildings.
