Lavender Graduation Ceremony
Join LBGTQ+ Services for the 2025 hybrid Lavender Graduation on Friday, May 2nd at 4:30 pm US Eastern Time to celebrate our LBGTQ+ MIT undergraduate and graduate/post doc students who have graduated or will be graduating in 2025 and the wonderful things they've accomplished. This event is in collaboration with and hosted by our friends at Alumnx Pride and the MIT Alumni Association. All are welcome.
Please make sure to RSVP and share within your networks so you can receive the information on how to participate. Graduates must RVSP to participate.

For 2025 Graduates: The registration deadline for graduating students to be included in the program is April 14th. Late additions may be allowed on a case-by-case basis.
MIT Diploma & Graduation
Changes to the way your first and middle names appear on your diploma can be made within the degree application without going through a legal name change. You would just need to change your name in WebSIS. It is your responsibility to ensure that the information is accurate and up to date. To read how to have the name you would like on your diploma please go to the Registrar's website here.

It’s a Vibe: Your Queer Career – Thriving in Academic & Professional Spaces
Join us for an engaging 1.5-hour workshop designed to help LGBTQ+ students navigate academic and professional spaces with confidence. We’ll explore strategies for career growth, identity affirmation, and building supportive networks. Open to all

Visualizing Sex Work & Trafficking: Ethical Maps & Modeling
The event will feature presentations by two distinguished researchers:
Dr. Kayse Lee Maass, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Northeastern University, will share insights on ethical approaches to collecting sensitive data and innovative techniques for anonymizing location data while preserving analytical value.
Dr. Elena Shih, Manning Assistant Professor of American Studies and Ethnic Studies at Brown University, along with her students, Shravya Sompalli and Arman Deendar will discuss participatory mapping methods that center the voices of affected communities and frameworks for differentiating between consensual sex work and human trafficking.
Panel, and Q&A Session: Following the presentations, there will be a panel discussion moderated by Alessandra Jungs de Almeida, Postdoctoral Associate in the MIT Women's and Gender Studies Program. The panel will be followed by an interactive Q & A segment that will provide opportunities to engage directly with the researchers, addressing methodological questions, ethical considerations, and potential applications of these approaches.

Salary Negotiation 101 Workshop
Attend this workshop to learn some strategies to help with your next salary negotiation. Where you will identify key strategies and steps in the salary negotiation process, learn about equal pay resources available at MIT and beyond to support you in your salary negotiations, and prepare a pitch and practice negotiating for a higher salary

DIRECTIONS:
ACCESSIBILITY: A wheelchair-accessible lift can be found on the western side of Building 50. A swinging door on the opposite eastern end of the large room will lead to an elevator. Upon exiting the elevator on the second floor, make a left and the Rainbow Lounge is in front of you.
FRONT ENTRANCE: If you take the staircase that faces the Charles River you may walk up the staircase to the third floor, walk across the gym/testing center, and then down the second floor to the Rainbow Lounge. Or once you enter Walker you can take the staircase down to the basement, take the hallway all the way to the back of Walker, then go up the staircase to the first floor and then the staircase to the second floor. The Rainbow Lounge doors will be in front of you.
BACK ENTRANCE LEFT: If you’re facing the back of Walker, the left staircase is the one that faces East Campus (building 62) and closest to Ames Street. To the staircase into Walker then walk up the staircase to the second floor. The Rainbow Lounge doors will be in front of you.
BACK ENTRANCE RIGHT: If you’re facing the back of Walker, the right staircase is the one that is closest to Building 14, and the black structural sculpture that’s in the courtyard. Take the staircase into Walker, then enter into Morss Hall, take a left to the pink swing door in the corner which you will enter into a kitchen. There is an elevator you can take to the second floor, or you can take the metal spiral staircase to the second floor and around the corner to the left is the Rainbow Lounge.
