Student Center

Centrally located, the Stratton Student Center offers places to gather, study, dine, do errands, and relax. MIT students view the Student Center as their out-of-the-classroom home.

Retail Stores and Services

MITFCU was founded in 1940 to provide basic financial services to employees at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Today, the Credit Union serves employees of the MIT Campus, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Whitehead Institute, The Broad Institute, and employees of Bright Horizons Children’s Centers who work at Lincoln Laboratory and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus locations.

In addition, they serve MIT graduate and undergraduate students, retirees of the employer groups, former employees, household members, and the families of Primary Members.

Established in 1882, the COOP serves as the campus store for the Harvard and MIT communities.  Our MIT Student Center store offers a wide selection of officially licensed MIT apparel and gifts as well as everyday stationary supplies.

The COOP, as a cooperative, is owned by its members but open to all. Members of the Harvard and MIT communities are eligible to join and, as members, enjoy a 10% member discount.  Membership is just $1.

Come visit the MIT branch of the United States Post Office.  Conveniently located in the basement of the Stud, this branch offers the traditional services such as mailing letters and packages, purchasing money orders and mailing supplies (boxes, envelopes, package tape, etc.), and advice on how to mail things domestically as well as internationally.  Also available are Post Office Boxes for rent.  Open Monday – Friday, except for during the summer.  For more information about the United States Post Office:  https://tools.usps.com.
