I Can Help With Belonging; Wellbeing; Cultural and Identity based organization support
I am the Assistant Dean in Intercultural Engagement. I manage Intercultural Engagement’s daily operations and I support our cultural and identity based student organizations and spaces at MIT.
I am first generation Portuguese-American, Born and raised in southeastern Massachusetts. I have a B.A. in Communication and an M.Ed. in Higher Education Student Affairs. Creating a sense of belonging and community has always been important to me personally and professionally. I spend a lot of my time advocating for marginalized populations. Throughout my 18 years in higher education, I have also worked in student conduct, new student orientation, residence life and housing, and multicultural affairs. My office is located in “SPXCE” (pronounced space) in W31-110. You can find me, and my dog Romeo, there most days.
