Kat Howell

I’ve called MIT and several of its unique and vibrant communities “home” since 2018. I was originally hired on as the Burton-Conner Area Director, before transitioning to New House during the COVID years. Finally, I transitioned again to support East Campus as Senior Area Director. I was born and raised in small-town Texas, but I’ve also lived in Arkansas and Rhode Island before shipping up to Boston! I hold a Bachelor of General Studies with two emphases in Education and one in Fine Arts from Henderson State University, a Master of Arts in Student Affairs & Higher Education from Stephen F. Austin State University, and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts-Boston. As the Associate Director for Training & Development in the office, I spearhead GRA Training initiatives and professional staff development.
