Duane de Four

Duane is the Director of Violence Prevention and Response. He is an educator with over 30 years of experience developing curricula, strategic initiatives, and policies, as well as facilitating discussions focused on issues such as bystander intervention, masculinity, consent, sexual health, anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
As a speaker and educator, Duane has led discussions with middle school, high school, and incarcerated youth, with adults in colleges and universities across the United States, as well as with the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, and NASCAR, all branches of the US Military, and international sexual violence prevention programs. He is returning to MIT, where he previously worked as VPR’s Senior Prevention Specialist. While he was away, Duane worked as the Interim Executive Director of the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center.
Duane is pursuing a PhD in Education from the University of Massachusetts Boston, PhD in Higher Education, previously he attended Emerson College, earning an MA in Marketing Communications and a BS in Women’s Studies from the University of Utah. Duane is a parent of two boys and enjoys gaming, sports, music, movies, and doing absolutely nothing whenever he can.
