Dialogue@MIT
We offer training, advising, and support that helps groups effectively engage in difficult conversations.

Organized in collaboration with the Sustained Dialogue Institute (SDI), Dialogue@MIT provides the tools and skills students need to help navigate challenges and conflicts all while building relationships, improving campus climate, and creating a lasting impact on the student experience at MIT.
Get Involved
There are several ways to get involved with Dialogue@MIT:
Build your own dialogue skills while helping lead others. Moderators are taught the skills and strategies necessary to lead equitable and impactful group dialogue and receive compensation for each group discussion.
Are you part of a group looking to find ways to more effectively work through conflict and difficult conversations? Workshop or in-service sessions help groups address:
- Different ways of approaching conflict
- Skills and strategies for difficult conversations
- Foundational skills for dialogue
- Brainstorming how to incorporate dialogue into your role or organization
Custom workshops can be developed to address your groups specific needs.
Dialogue@MIT offers 60 to 90 minute dialogue clinics which include a brief overview of a dialogue skill, in addition to 30 to 45 minutes of dialogue practice and skill application in a low-stakes setting. These clinics are open to all students.
SDI offers trainings on the Sustained Dialogue method, providing insight into their process, while helping individuals improve their dialogue and facilitation skills. Training is available at no cost to those who register using their MIT email address.
