Karah is a Survivor Advocate for the Violence Prevention and Response office. Prior to coming to MIT, Karah was a rural advocate at her local sexual assault support center in Maine. She began volunteering at the center in 2019 while she worked as a graduate assistant at the University of Maine. After graduating, she continued her work supporting survivors of sexual violence, specifically focusing on supporting survivors and doing outreach in rural communities. She brings a trauma-informed lens to this work and understands how essential connection and a community of care are to healing.
