Student Support Services
Areas of Specialization & Professional Interests
While at Wellesley College, Abeer worked with the Assistant Dean for Intercultural Education to help low income and first-generation college students find academic, financial, and mental health resources on campus. She also studied feminist ethnography and conducted field work at an elementary school to learn more about how fourth grade students understood and practiced freedom in their classrooms. After college, Abeer worked as a Program Manager at a computer science education non-profit, helping to make STEM education more accessible to K-12 students.
Abeer's time working with students, especially pre-college and undergraduate students, strengthened her passion for supporting students navigating higher education. She finds joy in helping students build positive and fulfilling learning environments.
Education

Personal
Abeer enjoys making ice cream and reading. On the weekends, she will try a new coffee shop or be in shavasana in a hot yoga class. Although Abeer considers herself an introvert, she loves talking to people about what interests they have, what inspires them outside of their professional goals, and what helps them prioritize their wellbeing.
