Staff of DSL Celebrate "Going the Extra Mile"

May 26 marked the annual Division of Student Life Infinite Mile Awards.

Members for the various departments under the DSL umbrella gathered in Walker Memorial to celebrate each other's accomplishments. This year presented challenges in areas of student support, sexual assault, the FSILG community, and unplanned renovations to Sidney Pacific Graduate Residence Hall. Dean for Student Life Chris Colombo hosted the event and presented gifts to DSL award winners.
 
The room also recognized staff and faculty who had worked at MIT for at least 25 years, becoming members of MIT’s Quarter Century Club. Eight new individuals were inducted into this group so devoted to serving the MIT community.

The Unsung Hero - Karin Brown, Acting Coach for Men’s and Women’s Varsity Swimming and Diving, Athletic Equipment Team, Area Director Team, and Lianne Scott, Assistant Director of Events and Operations at the Campus Activities Complex
Serving the Client Award - Lee Finnegan, Financial Officer and DSL Administrator
Building Community: Inclusion & Diversity Award - La-Tarri Canty, Director of Multicultural Programs and Assistant Director for Student Activities
The Building Community: Outreach & Collaboration Award - Leah Flynn Gallant, Assistant Dean and Director for Student Leadership and Engagement Programs.
Deans Award - Institutional Research
 
The ceremony provided a warm environment for DSL faculty and staff to make connections, celebrate accomplishments of their colleagues, and round out the academic year positively.
