How can my Professional Reference and/or Academic Advisor complete the Reference Form?
The application will require you to provide the contact information for your Professional Reference and/or Academic Advisor. Once your application is submitted, an email will be sent to your Professional Reference and/or Academic Advisor with the Reference Form included. The estimated amount of time to complete this form is approximately 15 minutes. If your references have any questions about what to expect when completing the Reference Form, you can refer them to the GRA Reference Form Instructions document or have them contact beagra@mit.edu.
Reference collection is NOT AUTOMATED. References will receive an email from a member of our team requesting the reference the FIVE BUSINESS DAYS after the application has been submitted. Please inform your Academic Advisor and/or your Professional Reference that you will be providing their contact information on your Graduate Residential Advisor Application. If your references have any questions about what to expect when completing the Reference Form, you can refer them to the GRA Reference Form Instructions document or have them contact beagra@mit.edu. Please note, a candidate's application is not considered complete until both the Academic Advisor and Professional References have been submitted. Therefore, if you wish to have a completed application by the priority deadline, you must submit your application in advance with enough time for your references to fill out the google form.
