Welcome
The new graduate student residence tower in the heart of Kendall Square provides 454 apartments, including 2-bedroom and 1-bedroom units that are prioritized for families with children, and efficiencies for single students. The building stands beside open space and possesses a host of common areas including quiet study spaces, a family lounge, a playroom, terraces, and multipurpose rooms. The building sits atop an underground parking garage and is anchored by the new MIT Admissions forum and welcome center; community, academic, and office space; as well as a childcare facility, which serves the entire MIT community and features an outdoor playground area that resident families may use.

MIT's newest graduate residence offers partially furnished two-bedroom units, and furnished one-bedroom and efficiency apartments. Please note that furniture provided by the Institute cannot be removed/exchanged for private furniture. Furniture storage is also unavailable.

Graduate Tower at Site 4 Renewal Policy*
MIT Graduate Students
- Renewable License: Residents may annually choose to renew their on-campus housing assignment for the full duration of their MIT graduate degree program.
Visitors, Affiliates, Postdocs, Cross-Registered Students
- Non-Renewable License: Must enter the Self-Selection process annually to select an on-campus housing assignment, subject to housing availability. Existing residents seeking to remain in on-campus graduate housing will be granted early access to select a unit before off-campus visitors, affiliates, postdocs and cross-registered students.
*Residents must remain eligible for MIT graduate housing. This renewal policy does not apply to undergraduate students living within graduate housing. Visitors, affiliates, postdocs and cross-registered students continue to receive non-renewable licenses.
