I've never experienced a New England winter. How can I prepare?
The idea of navigating the winter months (December through February) in Cambridge can be intimidating for those who are not from colder climates. Though not as snowy, the months leading up to and after the winter season (October, November, March and April) can be chilly. We suggest that students bring a heavy coat, winter boots, and insulated gloves that are water-resistant to ward off rain and snow. Jackets with removable liners may be an important part of a student’s wardrobe during the fall and spring. House team members and some student groups plan shopping trips that allow students to purchase appropriate clothing and other accessories suitable to New England's seasons.
