Spring 2021 Housing Application

November 11, 2020

Dear New and Returning Undergraduate Students,

Following yesterday’s announcement from Chancellor Barnhart about the Institute’s current plans for the Spring 2021 semester, I am writing to share that the Spring 2021 Housing Application will launch today, November 3, 2020 at 12:00 pm EST within the MyHousing portal.  The application will remain accessible, and you may make changes to your submitted preferences, until the end of the day Monday, November 16.  Below, please find several important reminders as you consider your housing options for the spring:

  • The Housing Application is not first-come, first-served, and there is no priority given to those who submit the form early.
  • Students who do not submit the form by November 16 cannot be guaranteed on-campus housing for the spring semester.
  • Students who complete the Spring 2021 Housing Application whose housing plans change may cancel by January 1, 2021 without penalty.
  • As Chancellor Barnhart noted, first-years, sophomores and juniors who would like to access campus facilities during the spring semester must reside on campus.

Additional housing information about next semester is available on the Spring 2021 Housing Dashboard which will be updated regularly with additional information including February  move-in dates and details.  In the interim, if you have any questions, or if the team at Housing & Residential Services (HRS) can be of assistance to you, please don’t hesitate to reach out via email at ughousingspring2021@mit.edu or by telephone at (617) 253-2811.

Sincerely,
