January 28, 2021
Dear [Enter Name],
We look forward to your arrival to campus for the Spring 2021 semester on [Enter Date/Time]! I am writing to share your room assignment, as well as pre-arrival and move-in information with you. Please take the time to review this message carefully.
I am pleased to confirm that you have been assigned to the following housing assignment for the Spring 2021 semester according to a house-level room assignment process led by student Room Assignment Chairs and House Teams:
[Enter Assignment]
Also, as described in an earlier letter from Chancellor Barnhart, Vice Chancellor Waitz and Vice President Nelson, there are a number of community expectations that you must be mindful of, including COVID-19 testing twice per week and daily health attestations through COVID Pass, wearing a face covering in all public areas and common spaces, practicing physical distancing of at least six feet (two meters) from others, and maintaining enhanced personal hygiene. Watch this week’s undergraduate information session for other helpful information.
If your housing plans have changed and you no longer require on-campus housing for the Spring 2021 semester, Housing & Residential Services (HRS) will remain flexible in waiving the $250 housing cancellation fee if your cancellation form is submitted through MyHousing by 11:59 pm ET on Sunday, February 7.
Teams across the Division of Student Life have also developed a helpful guide with information about life on campus this semester. As always, if the team at HRS can be helpful with answering your housing-related inquiries, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us via email at ughousingspring2021@mit.edu.
Sincerely,
RICH HILTON
Associate Dean and Director for Residential Services and Operations
Housing & Residential Services
The information in this message has also been added to the Spring 2021 Housing Dashboard to help you navigate your arrival to campus.
