Excellence is a crucial aspect in the development of MIT's community. Each year, individuals and teams make a real difference in student life at MIT. The Division of Student Life hosts or contributes to a variety of opportunities to recognize excellence and commitment.

DSL Appreciates Recognition Program DSL Appreciates Recognitions are 'thank you' cards accompanied by small tokens of appreciation. These represent immediate appreciation for staff contributions and are a great way to say thank you to staff.
Infinite Mile Awards As part of MIT's Recognition and Rewards Program, the Division of Student Life Infinite Mile Awards recognize employees, both individuals and teams, for their exceptional contributions to their office, department, school, or the Institute as a whole. The program is designed to help foster an environment of shared success and commitment and to showcase employees as role models.
MIT Excellence Awards Held each year, the Excellence Awards are the Institute-wide component of MIT's Recognition and Rewards Program. The Excellence Awards focus on recognizing MIT service, support, administrative, SRS staff, and faculty and other academics.
Institute Awards Convocation Each May, through the MIT Awards Convocation, the MIT community gathers to honor its faculty, students, staff, and friends who have contributed significantly to student life and learning.
FSILG Awards The FSILG Office hosts an awards reception in the late spring to recognize individuals and organizations that have gone above and beyond throughout the academic year. This includes recognizing high GPA achievements, outstanding Resident Advisors, alumni and volunteers, and individuals and chapters that have exhibited exceptional qualities. The IFC and Panhellenic Councils also present the winners of their individual awards.
Celebration of Student-Athlete Excellence The Department of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation (DAPER) hosts a ceremony each May, the Celebration of Student-Athlete Excellence, honoring the staff, students, and teams who contribute to the success of the varsity, intramural, and club sports and recreation programs.
Multicultural Awards Banquet The Multicultural Banquet is a yearly recognition ceremony that acknowledges members of the MIT community who go above and beyond in areas of diversity and inclusion. Join us as we celebrate faculty, staff and students that contribute to an affirming and welcoming MIT campus community.
