Women level 2

Margaret Cheney Room

MIT's Women's Community Center (3-310)

In recognition of the fact that women have traditionally been denied a safe space of their own, the Cheney Room is proud to provide such a space. This Center exists to promote community and empower all women students at MIT. We welcome students regardless of background, culture, race, religion, or sexual orientation and practices. We provide resources, events, and staff that are focused on developing and supporting women students.

The Margaret Cheney Room was established in 1882 for the use of all fully admitted MIT women students.  In keeping with this Center's values, we respect the right of our transgendered women students to make use of the Cheney Room and welcome them to the space.  Want more information or resources?  Check out Trans@MIT.
