Kathy Cahill - Associate Dean of Accessibility

Kathy Cahill: Kathy is the Associate Dean of Accessibility and Usability in the Division of Student Life.  She has worked at MIT in assistive technology and accessibility for over 20 years.  Kathy oversees assistive technology solutions to students and staff, and works to promote accessible Information Technology throughout the Institute.  Before MIT, Kathy worked for the Mass. Commission for the Blind, as well as in the IT and social work fields.

 

 

Rich Caloggero - Accessibility Technology Researcher & Consultant

Rich Caloggero: Rich is an accessibility technology researcher and consultant. He reviews websites and applications for accessibility issues using screen reading software. When issues are found, he proposes possible solutions and works with project teams to remediate the problems. Rich has over 30 years of experience in software development, access technology, and computer support, and is a full-time screen reader user.


 

 

Chris LaRoche - User Experience Consultant

Chris LaRoche: Chris is a user experience consultant. He consults with MIT faculty, staff, students, labs, and departments to assist with making web sites, software products, and workflows more accessible and usable to the widest possible audiences. He also runs trainings and workshops for the MIT community on these subjects. His interests also include promoting inclusive design. He is a Senior Lecturer at the College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University and teaches on a variety of user experience topics.

 

 

Kate Quinn - Assistive Technology Specialist

Kate Quinn: Kate is an Assistive Technology Specialist for MIT's Disability and Access Services. Kate researches and implements assistive technology solutions for MIT students, faculty, and staff with the goal of helping the community accomplish their work as comfortably and efficiently as possible. Kate has a particular interest in accessible course materials and reading support, and holds a professional certificate in Assistive Technology Applications from California State University, Northridge.

 

 

Katherine Wahl - Accessibility & Usability Consultant

Katherine Wahl: Katherine is an Accessibility and Usability Consultant in Disability and Access Services. She works with departments, labs, and centers across MIT to help make their web sites, applications, and software usable and accessible to the widest possible audience. Katherine has more than 25 years of experience working in human services, communications, and information technology.
