Undergraduate Emergency Support Fund Request Form

Resources are available to help undergraduate students cover unforeseen, essential expenses or obtain enough food for regular meals. S3 can help cover or subsidize expenses such as winter clothing or an emergency trip home. In order to be responsive to your needs, we have simplified and streamlined the request process. Please fill out this brief form describing your request.

You should discuss your request with your S3 dean who will also review your submitted form. Please note, requests are only reviewed when the office is open. If you are in need of urgent assistance on the weekends, 5 pm-9 am during the week, or when the Institute is closed, please be in touch with the Dean on Call at 617-253-1212.

In some cases, students will not receive funds if it is determined that:

  1. The needs are not critical, or
  2. They can utilize other resources to fulfill the need.

In such instances, students will be referred to and connected with the alternate resources. Some expenses cannot be covered by this fund, including tuition, on-campus housing, and other costs that may be covered by financial aid.

Graduate students should use the  Graduate Student Short-Term Emergency Fund. Graduate students with families who need additional support should contact Adj Marshall in the Office of Graduate Education by emailing writeadj@mit.edu
