Family Housing
In order to be eligible for family housing, your spouse must reside with you on a full time basis. If you were assigned housing based upon having children, they must also reside with you full time. The Housing Office will follow up with you during the academic year to confirm all family members are actively living with in on-campus housing. If your family is not found to be residing with you full-time, you will be required to leave family housing.

READ BEFORE YOU SUBMIT
Once you have accepted an assignment from the waiting list, you will be expected to occupy the room regardless of whether you have signed your license agreement. Should you decide to cancel your assignment after an offer has been accepted, you must notify the Housing Office by email at graduatehousing@mit.edu. There will be a $250 cancellation fee if you cancel the assignment after you have accepted it. If you cancel less than 30 days before your move-in date you will be responsible for rent from your move-in date until the end of 30 days, or until someone else moves into your assignment, whichever comes first. You may remove yourself from the waiting list at any time by emailing graduatehousing@mit.edu.
IMPORTANT: If you are assigned to family housing at MIT, you must submit proof of family before you move in. Your assignment notification will specify when and how to provide this documentation.
