Leah Flynn

Leah serves not only as the Director for the Student Activities Office, but also for a number of leadership initaitives on campus such as LeaderShape and the Community Catalyst Leadership Program. She also serves as an advisor to the Undergraduate Association and the Association for Student Activities. In addition to her leadership work, Leah is currently working on her PhD at Syracuse University. She received her Masters in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse, as well. Leah is originally from Upstate, NY and enjoys cooking, writing and traveling.

  La-Tarri Canty

A newly created office, La-Tarri serves as the Director of Multicultural Programs. She advises the Multicultural student clubs and organizations at MIT.  She coordinates the Multicultural Conference, MC2. She also facilitates trainings and workshops on diversity and inclusion, effective communication, conflict resolution and leadership development. La-Tarri received her Masters in Student Affairs Personnel and Diversity from the State University of New York at Binghamton. She is an ordained minister originally from Brooklyn, New York. In her spare time she enjoys, reading, singing and shopping. 

   Colin Codner

Colin oversees the financial position of all undergraduate and graduate student groups and assists groups with travel arrangements. Colin also serves as an advisor for the UA FinBoard and GSC Funding Board. He is currently completing his MBA with a specialization in non profit management from Suffolk University. Colin is originally from Connecticut and enjoys, hiking, fishing, and the Red Sox.

Alicia Erwin

Alicia works specifically with the SAO’s leadership initiatives, women student support and programming, and coaching of student organizations. She directly advises the Freshman Leadership Program as well as overseeing the Student Leader Awards, the Emerging Leaders Conference, and the Margaret Cheney Room. Alicia received her Masters in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina. She is originally from Virginia and enjoys cooking, photography, and attempting to be a runner.

 
Abigail Francis

Abigail is MIT’s first-ever fulltime Director of LBGT Services under the Division of Student Life. She holds a B.S. in Psychology and Pre-Medical studies from Bates College and a Masters in Social Work and Urban Leadership from Simmons College. In overseeing MIT’s Rainbow Lounge she offers one-on-one support for students, advising of 5 LBGT student groups, collaboration with community partners, and provides consistency and resources to help build and empower the LBGT and Ally community at MIT. Abigail heads-up the organization called LBGT@MIT, a community resource offering quality programming, services, collaboration, and education to all of MIT. 
 
Alana Hamlett

Alana works with large events and assists student organizations in planning major events. Alana directly advises the Events Committee on Fall Festival and Spring Weekend programming, advises the Class Councils and oversees the planning of Charm School. Alana received her Masters in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University. She is originally from Bronx, NY and enjoys running, cooking and baking, and traveling. 
Katrina Hill

Katrina serves as the “front line” to SAO. Questions relating to deposits, RFPs or how to submit financial paperwork can be answered by her. Katrina received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Regis College. Katrina loves the Celtics, Red Sox, Patriots and New England Revolution in that order! In her spare time, Katrina dances with her crew Unyted Stylz. When she’s not dancing you’ll find her in the Atlantic… surfing!

  Jessica Carter

Under the supervision of the Director of Multicultural Programs, Jessica directly advises leaders of the organizations that make up the Council for the Advancement of Black Students. In this role, Jessica supports students in developing programming as well as presents workshops and trainings on leadership topics. Jessica is currently a Masters student in the Learning & Teaching Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. A native Texan, Jessica enjoys traveling, attending sporting events, and writing.

  Denise Del Aguila

Under the supervision of the Director of Multicultural Programs, Denise directly advises leaders of the Latino Cultural Center and the organizations that make up the Latino Leaders Assembly. Raised in New Mexico, she is a 2007 Teach For America corps member, having taught 11th and 12th grade English for four years in Houston. Denise is currently a Masters student in the Prevention Science and Practice program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Denise enjoys running, cooking, and exploring the Boston area by foot.

Andy works in collaboration with the full-time staff on a variety of activities, events, and initiatives in the office.  He is assisting with MIT L.E.A.D., Fall and Spring Weekend Programming, Charm School, and the Multicultural Conference.  Andy is currently receiving his Masters in College Student Development and Counseling from Northeastern University.  He is originally from Taunton, MA and enjoys bike riding, sports, and exploring Boston.
