Lutheran Chaplain


Kari Jo VerhulstPastor Kari Jo Verhulst serves as the Lutheran Chaplain to MIT, and is also a pastor at University Lutheran Church in Cambridge. She has studied and served in ecumenical and diverse contexts, which has cultivated her deep appreciation for the many ways in which people encounter and express their experience of God. She holds an MDiv from Weston Jesuit School of Theology (now a part of the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry) and did a year of study at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. She also works as a part-time pastor at University Lutheran Church (UniLu) in Cambridge, where she focuses particularly on their vibrant Young Adults and Graduate Student group. Kari Jo lives in Watertown with her husband Ernesto and daughter Hannah.
