"I wasn't sure if I would be able to do any public service as an MIT student, but through the Priscilla King Gray Service Center I was immediately able to become a tutor."

How would you briefly describe your experience as a ReachOut Tim Tutor?

As a tutor, I helped students at East End House with their math and reading homework. I think the little help I gave these students really helped them understand critical concepts.

What did it mean to you to be able to tutor children in the Cambridge area?

I wasn't sure if I would be able to do any public service as an MIT student, but through the Priscilla King Gray Service Center I was immediately able to become a tutor.
The few hours I help at East End House are very rewarding. School work can be overwhelming at times so it helps to take a few hours each week to help these students.

What do you think your work means for the community in which you served?

East End House provides a great service to Cambridge by providing students with a place to go after school and helping families get school supplies and groceries. Being a part of this service has been a great experience.
