Community Partnerships

Community Partnerships: The PKG Center collaborates with community partners to tap and expand MIT students’ unique skills and interests to address complex social and environmental challenges and educate students to engage in meaningful public service, today and in their lives beyond MIT.

Community partnerships help realize MIT’s mission to advance knowledge and educate students in science, technology, and other areas of scholarship that will best serve the nation and the world in the 21st century, and to develop in each member of the MIT community the ability and passion to work wisely, creatively, and effectively for the betterment of humankind, through real-world experience.

PKG Partners: The PKG Center works collaboratively with community partners to develop programs and activities that allow MIT students to explore social change efforts and organizations locally, nationally, and globally through immersive service experiences, paid employment and volunteer opportunities. Our community partners provide expert assistance with designing, planning, and executing service projects that address real-world challenges and offer invaluable co-curricular educational experiences to our students.

We value our community partners and the great work they do supporting communities locally, nationally, and across the globe. We seek to create mutually beneficial partnerships, in which the needs of the community are being served and MIT students are able to learn more about the social contexts and realities of our world, while applying their skills and knowledge in support of community efforts.
