I'd like more information on becoming a Graduate Resident Tutor.
Graduate Resident Tutors serve within the residential life system at MIT as members of the House Team.
I'm civically engaged at home, what opportunities are available at MIT?
What is civic engagement? Civic engagement is the interaction between you, your community, your government, and society. Civic engagement allows you to make a difference through participating in activities and efforts such as attending a political rally, advocating on behalf of the homeless in Cambridge, or registering your vote in local and national elections. Check out the Student Life Services website for more information.
How do I reserve space for an activity or event?
MIT-recognized student organizations and Institute departments may reserve facilities such as classrooms, multipurpose rooms, auditoriums, barbecue pits, and athletic facilities. Many different offices are responsible for scheduling facilities on campus, but most rooms may be reserved through one of three departments: Schedules Office, Athletics, and the Campus Activities Complex.
I'd like to start a new activity.
MIT is fortunate to have over 330 student groups and organizations that focus on a variety of interests. Joining a group at MIT is a great way to explore, expand and meet others who share your interests. Information about these groups can be found on the ASA webpage.
Is there funding available for my group?
MIT groups can access a number of funding sources across the Institute. The Student Life Services office has a wealth of information concerning group funding. For advice about other opportunities, you may want to check with MIT Public Service Center staff for additional sources for community service projects.
I'd like to become more involved on campus. What opportunities are available?
At MIT, there is a broad range of opportunities for student input on and participation in student life. Student Life Services can be your connection to campus involvement – the place where you can learn about student organizations, fraternities & sororities, student-sponsored events, campus programs, leadership opportunities, student government, residential life and community service initiatives.
