Grades are posted within one week of the last day of class and can be viewed in WebSIS. http://www.mitpe.com/faqs.

What types of recreational programs are available at MIT?

MIT Recreational Sports offers a great variety of group and private fitness and aquatic programs. Some of these programs have been approved to count towards your Physical Education point requirement. Please check out our website for additional information on programs.

I missed the PE registration period. How can I register for a Physical Education class?

You can attend the first day of any open class. Open spots will be assigned as available by the instructor. Check the PE website for more information and the open class list for the current quarter.

How can I support DAPER?

Gifts, at all levels, are crucial to maintaining and enhancing MIT’s high quality, competitively excellent, participation-based sports programming. Giving to MIT provides detailed information on DAPER giving priorities. 

How do I join a team?

If you are interested in more information about a varsity program, or would like to join a team, the best way to do this is to contact the coach. Click on this link and on the left hand side you will find a staff directory.

How do I activate my MIT ID card to use the sport facilities?

Students have access to the DAPER facilities during the Academic Calendar year. You would go to the main desk of the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center or Alumni Pool and Wang Fitness Center to fill out a form and activate your ID card.

How can I fulfill my PE requirement?

The General Institute Requirement states that all students are required to complete a minimum of eight points of credit and the swim requirement. Students are expected to complete this requirement by the end of the sophomore year. Transfer students need only complete four points of credit and the swim requirement. If I have family or friends visiting, how can they access the fitness and recreation facilities?

If you are married or have a child you can purchase the student family membership that would include any dependents. If you have a friend or family member visiting for the day they could purchase a day pass at the main desk of the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center or Alumni Pool and Wang Fitness Center. The DAPER recreation website has more information on current rates and hours.

How do I reserve space for an activity or event?

MIT-recognized student organizations and Institute departments may reserve facilities such as classrooms, multipurpose rooms, auditoriums, barbecue pits, and athletic facilities. Many different offices are responsible for scheduling facilities on campus, but most rooms may be reserved through one of three departments: Schedules Office, Athletics, and the Campus Activities Complex. All events are reviewed for appropriate use of space. The Event Planning Guide has all the information you will need to plan a successful event on campus.
