Awards Convocation

Student leaders define MIT. They lay the foundations, build the governments, plan the events, and enrich our culture. The Awards Convocation is here to make sure their hard work gets noticed.

Every spring, the Student Organizations, Leadership and Engagement Office (in collaboration with offices throughout the Division of Student Life) honors select student leaders and student groups for their outstanding contributions to the MIT community. These awards are intended to recognize and honor their accomplishments and hard work while paying tribute to their efforts in developing community and student life at MIT.

Working with campus partners such as the Association of Student ActivitiesCopy TechResidential Life Programs, and the Office of Multicultural Programs we are able not only to recognize these recipients but also to support their future endeavors through resources and funding in the form of Student Leader Award Grants.

Nominations for Award Convocation recognition are OPEN! To nominate someone click here.

The Awards Convocation Committee will accept nominations from anyone—students, staff, faculty, coaches, and alumni, as well as self-nominations. Questions? Email for more information.
