Fees (Summer Program & Conference Housing)
Unclaimed Property: Any items, including but not limited to, bags or boxes that are left unclaimed in housing by participants and/or Program, shall be assessed a $25 disposal fee per item.
Early Arrivals/Late Stays: Housing & Residential Services may assess a $50 charge for any last minute changes in accommodations arranged less than 48 hours in advance of program start or end. Housing & Residential Services may also charge the Program the standard night accommodation fee.
Keys and MIT ID Cards: Card Services shall assess a fee of $25 for each lost MIT ID card and $150 lock replacement fee for each key that is lost, stolen, or otherwise not returned. To the extent possible, Housing & Residential Services will attempt to collect the fee from the Participant, but if Housing & Residential Services is unable to collect the fee in full within two calendar days, Housing & Residential Services will assess the fee to the Program (if applicable). If a participant fails to return the keys or MIT ID card at check-out, Housing & Residential Services will assess the full fee to the Program.
Furniture: Housing & Residential Services shall assess a fee of $30 for each piece of furniture that is moved from its original location within rooms and lounge areas. Housing & Residential Services will assess the fee each time it discovers the furniture moved from the original location.
Trash: Housing & Residential Services shall assess a fee no less than $200 upon participant's departure, if Housing & Residential Services finds excessive trash in any area(s), including but not limited to, individual rooms, common areas, and public spaces of the facilities used by the participants. Housing & Residential Services in its sole discretion, will determine whether the amount of trash is excessive.
