Figure Out Where You Want to Live

Before you fill out your housing application, learn more about each community by visiting the Guide to Residences and i3 Videos. This content is created by current students for new students like you. New content is posted every year in early May.

Please note: We are unable to provide private tours of the undergraduate residence halls. All buildings are fully occupied or closed for renovation during the summer. If you are planning a visit to the MIT campus, we encourage you to join a campus tour which usually showcases a room in Baker House.

Already know where you'd like to live?

Housing applications for first-year students open on May 28, 2017.

Don't worry if you need some time to decide! Our application is not first-come, first-served, and there is no priority given to applicants who apply early!
