The Graduate Resident Advisor Program

Graduate Resident Advisors (GRAs) are live-in mentors, role models, guides, and resources for the students who live in MIT's residential FSILG facilities.

Responsibilities of the GRA position can vary from chapter to chapter. The FSILG office oversees hiring for these positions and seeks individuals who take initiative to build rapport with the undergraduate members of FSILGs, as well as communicate with MIT and the Alumni Corporation of the FSILGs.

GRAs teach and enforce MIT policies and safety practices and take appropriate actions to ensure that their residents follow these policies and practices. GRAs receive training, in cooperation with MIT's Medical Department, Safety Office, Facilities, Campus Police, and other offices. GRAs support exists in all FSILG facilities throughout the academic year and the summer.

GRA applications are no longer being accepted for the 2017-18 academic year.
