When moving out, you must provide a minimum of 30-days notice and you may terminate your housing only for the last day of the month in which you are moving out.*
Your rent responsibility ends on the last day of the month in which you move out. For example, if you move out on December 16 and provide notice by November 16, you will still be billed for the entire month of December.
If you do not terminate your housing for an approved reason, you will continue to be billed for your rent until your license agreement expires or until a new resident moves in -– whichever comes first. Note: An internal transfer does not count as a new resident. The replacement must come from off campus to fill the vacancy created by your departure.
If you are moving to another room, consider transferring instead of terminating.
You will be charged a termination fee equal to one month's rent if you terminate for any reason (approved or unapproved) during the first two months of a semester: September, October, February, or March.
*Graduating seniors may qualify for special June termination dates.
