Building inspections are done frequently to ensure student safety and comfort. MIT performs internal inspections once a year in addition to annual inspections with the Cambridge Building Inspector. These inspections have ensure that safety concerns, such as egress routes, chemical storage, and slip/trip/fall concerns are addressed. Mold and other air quality concerns are also addressed throughout the year.
OSHA requires certain trainings such as Bloodborne Pathogens and Asbestos Awareness to be offered annually to staff members who may be exposed to blood or asbestos.
