The Finance Services team in DSL Administration is responsible for supporting the strategic business goals and financial activities of the Division of Student Life. The team prides itself on being the primary source of knowledge and information on a wide range of financial processes and planning initiatives.

Our objective is to be an integral part of the Division’s strategy to effectively maximize MIT’s resources by providing clarity in our reports, actions, and communication.

A strong team of professionals has been assembled with the skills and expertise in management reporting, financial analysis, and logistic support for accounting and budget related functions. Our strength stems from placing top priority on the internal coordination of financial, human resources, information systems and space planning efforts; with an emphasis on partnering with our department program managers to further their strategic goals.

Specifically, the DSL Finance team supports the Division with:

• Internal and external procurement,
• Cash management,
• MIT ProCard (credit card) support
• Travel logistics
• Financial performance analysis
• Fund and gift administration
• Annual budget preparation
• Long range budget and capital planning
• Legal and other statutory compliance
• Contract services support
• Payroll processing and monitoring
• Maintaining system authorizations
